As a Second Year Ally I have had the great experience to develop growth and leadership skills that will help impact my personal life as well as my community. During my first year of Public Allies, I was placed at the United Way of New York City (UWNYC). My time at UWNYC was a challenging yet influential process of development. It helped me transition into a Second Year of Public Allies, where I was placed at the Women’s Center for Education and Career Advancement. I have had the privilege to work on increasing low to moderate income working New Yorker’s financial security through access to financial resources, benefits and services. By diagnosing neighborhood challenges and identifying current and future economic development plans tied to employment, we can design solutions to expand educational, income and health opportunities, while utilizing available resources to support all aspects of life.
