Simone?! Satchell is a Black, queer, healing artist who hails from Staten Island, New York. He
currently lives in Elmhurst, which completes his residential tour of the 5 boroughs. He obtained
his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Queens College. He uses artistic expression as a tool for processing
and healing. Simone?! Is often exploring ways to combine the arts with community building and
healing by opening space for marginalized communities to practice self-care and breathing. He
hopes to use creative expression as a means of supporting ourselves as individuals and also as a
community. He has used a variety of printmaking techniques and mixed mediums. Simone?!
utilizes art to explore his mind’s pathways and as his original means of communication. He is
inspired by the paradoxical, the unrealized, the infinite possibilities of individuals, communities
and all that comes along the way. He is brewing himself as a performance artist and intends to
showcase his work in the near future. He is a Public Ally Fellow in New York, placed at the
Queens Museum as the Coordinator of Out-of- School Youth and Family Programs. He works
with school programs and provides the museum experience for school groups. He creates art
making workshops that are weekly drop-in sessions. He also works with Queens Teens in
exploring art and social justice issues. One day, he hopes to gain a Master’s in Art Therapy so
that his healing work through the arts can continue grander.
